Understanding Hearing Loss

Types of Hearing Loss
There are three main types of hearing loss:

  • Conductive Hearing Loss
Caused by blockages in the outer or middle ear (earwax, fluid, or damage). Often treatable with medical intervention.
  • Sensorineural Hearing Loss
The most common type, caused by damage to the inner ear. This may result from aging, noise exposure, or medications. Usually treated with hearing aids.
  • Mixed Hearing Loss
A combination of both conductive and sensorineural causes, often requiring a multi-faceted treatment approach.

If you're unsure which type you may have, our specialists will conduct a full evaluation and guide you toward the best solution.

The Importance of Early Treatment

Untreated hearing loss can impact more than your ability to communicate. Studies link prolonged hearing loss to:

  • Cognitive decline and increased risk of dementia
  • Depression and social withdrawal
  • Slower brain function and mental fatigue

The sooner you act, the better your outcome. Schedule a consultation today and take a proactive step toward better hearing.

  • How can I tell if I truly have hearing loss?

Hearing loss can affect people in different ways. If you often ask people to repeat themselves, turn up the volume on the TV or phone, or have trouble understanding conversations, especially in noisy environments, it may be time for a hearing test. Our comprehensive evaluations can determine the type and degree of hearing loss you may have.

  • What is the average cost of hearing aids?

Hearing aids can vary in price based on the brand, technology level, and specific hearing needs. On average, a set of hearing aids ranges from $1,500 to $4,000. We’ll help you find a solution that fits both your lifestyle and your budget.
